Hi Janet;
"Kim is working with Duchess now, and she is looking really good. Everyone says that she just looks so lady-like. She is incredibly intelligent and so eager to learn. I think she got that quality from her dad and grandpa. She is the most wonderful and fun horse, and all wrapped up in a package that includes beauty and a great personality. I could not have purchased a more wonderful animal. Ask Kim next time you see her if she is having fun riding her!"

Dear Janet
My name is Anita Scurlock. I am 9 years old. I have a four-year-old gelding BWS Trusty Larkspur by Larks Trust Fund. He is the best horse because he is fun to trail ride and show. He is nice to be around and he cooperates. Last year we won MQHA High-Point in the state for the Walk-Trot Division – it was really fun to be top in the state. He is a beautiful horse with a long tail. We are best friends. He loves me a lot. Someday I hope the two of us are famous. Next year we will be doing Walk/Trot/Canter. I hope we will do as good as we did this year. He loves to get brushed. I love it when he gives me hugs and kisses – except in the show ring! When I ride him I don't want to get off him, that's how much I like to ride him. When we do showmanship it takes a minute to get him going but he does well. But I love him no matter what because he is my best friend.

Hi Janet;
"Warm greetings to everyone. I'm enclosing this picture of Lark that I took this fall. We had a long and enjoyable trail riding season at our farm. Lark did an outstanding job, and was safe enough to go alone off the property. I am really enjoying her!!"

"I would sincerely like to thank everyone at JR Lazy Day Farms for going above and beyond the call of duty to get my mare in foal. It was a long process that lasted 3 years. When most breeders would have given up, Janet, you kept at it. Finally, Lass had a beautiful, healthy cold born at Lazy Day Farms. Your facility is beautiful, and your staff have always been friendly and very down to earth. My mare and her baby are always treated as if they are your own 'kids'. Thank you, Janet, Archie, Kerry and Kelley for all you've done. Thank you Carlene for rescuing Trucker when he though the porcupine might want to play. See you all soon.
~ Jill (Sines), Lass, and Trucker, Muskegon MI

Dear Janet;
"I wish to thank you so very much. Even though we have not met in person, you have shown to me the trust, kindness, and confidence I would only expect from a close friend. To allow me to have the chance for Tom Powers Stallion Trust, and you don't know me from Adam. If you would allow it, I would like to count you as a friend..."
~ Oscar Marty Vasquez, Detroit MI

Janet;
"I just wanted to thank you again for helping me out so much last year. I can't say enough good things about you and Kerry, and anyone who is looking for a nice stud and a breeding facility is always recommended to you by my farm."
~ Jackie Kalvaitis, Fremont MI

Dear Janet;
"Here is a picture of me and Trusty's Trust Fund, a.k.a. Toby, at the Amateur Extravaganza in Findley, Ohio. I cannot thank you enough for selling me this amazing horse. He is truly the wind beneath my wings."
~ Kara Hansen, Coopersville MI

Dear Janet;
"I am writing you because of my interest in Larks Trust Fund. I have a Sugar Ray Lark baby. She was a find, and even though she had bad beginnings, with love and care she is wonderful. I found her in a field full of muck wrapped in a high tinsel wire around her neck and hind left leg. I took a pair of pliers and released her from her troubles. When she got to her feet I knew she was okay, and I bought that skinny, torn up baby. I spent four months increasing her weight and having the Newaygo vets checking her for injuries. She turned three in July. She is a beautiful buckskin. I got on her back after she turned three, and she responded beautifully. "We have been riding her ever since. She went to her first open show this August and to my surprise, showed with her dad who is now a gelding. I want to make this mare something. I realize that this bloodline is amazing.
"I have another Red Roan Foundation quarter mare that I would like to breed to your Larks Trust Fund. I am rebuilding my parents' farm in Fruitport, and I want Lark babies. I have owned seven other horses, and have never known this kind of response from a horse. It's like you said about The Lark Ascending, they get restless if they're not doing something. I would like to come out and check out the facilities for possible breeding to my other mare, to bring another Lark baby into my arms.
~ Jean Tonet, Fruitport MI

Note: Janet's reputation is built on the care she takes in her own stables and in finding homes for Lazy Day offspring. She was delighted to hear of the rescue described above, and her staff are investigating this Sugar Ray baby's circumstances.
